기도는 전적으로 하나님께 드리는 개인적인 고백이어야 합니다. 하지만 주일 대예배에서 회중을 대표하여 기도할 때에는 중언부언되지 않도록 미리 공기도문을 작성하여야 할 것입니다. 만일 다른 사람이 써놓은 우수한 기도문을 따를 때에는 그 영성을 충분히 내재화하여 자신의 기도로 만들어야 하고, 그것을 그대로 답습하여서는 안 됩니다.

1. 오늘은 교회력을 마무리하는 왕이신 그리스도 주일입니다.
   
   
2. 세상의 모든 권력도 마지막에는 모두 덧없음을 기억하고 오직 주님께로 우리의 마음을 돌리도록 기도합시다.
   
   
3. 또한 이제 시작되는 대림절 기간 동안 다시 마음을 정결하게 하여 그리스도의 강림을 기억하며 재림을 기원할 수 있도록 기도합시다.

2. 예시 기도문

Lord of majesty and mercy,

We give You thanks and praise for Your care for your creation. Especially we thank You for your Son Jesus Christ, who we confess today as the ruler of the world and our redeemer. In Christ, You have turned the world upside down, revealing Your strengths through weakness. In Christ, You have forgiven us the sinners and made us worthy of Your grace.

Lord, grant us that we learn from the Cross that no hopeless situation or frightening possibility is beyond Your reach. Help us be reminded of Christ's glorious victory over death and reigning over the whole world.

We praise You for Your love at work around us and within us. Your grace surpasses what we can ask or even imagine. Come to us, Lord, and reign over us as our Sovereign. Receive our praise, as we want to be faithful to Your rule in the kingdom. Receive our love, as we gather and commit ourselves to realize Your justice.

God of wisdom, we confess today that we forget our citizenship in Heaven and let ourselves be too vulnerable to worldly powers. Lord, we confess that we only put forward our plans, even if they conflict with Your purposes. Forgive us our sins, merciful Father, so that we can walk in Your glory again. Inspire us with the example of Jesus, and let us learn from Him.
