기도는 전적으로 하나님께 드리는 개인적인 고백이어야 합니다. 하지만 주일 대예배에서 회중을 대표하여 기도할 때에는 중언부언되지 않도록 미리 공기도문을 작성하여야 할 것입니다. 만일 다른 사람이 써놓은 우수한 기도문을 따를 때에는 그 영성을 충분히 내재화하여 자신의 기도로 만들어야 하고, 그것을 그대로 답습하여서는 안 됩니다.

1. 이번 기도의 포인트

1. 주현절 기간은 하나님께서 성자를 보내신 것을 기념하는 기간입니다. 주현절은 주님의 오심을 축하하는 성탄 절기와 주님의 십자가 고통을 기억하는 사순절기 사이에 있습니다. 예수님께서 탄생하시고 십자가에 못박히시기 전까지 세상에서 행하신 일들을 기억하는 절기입니다. 따라서 예수님이 땅에서 전하고자 하신 뜻을 기억하고 실천하기 위해 기도합시다.
   
   
2. 특히 이번주에는 소외된 자들과 낯선 지역을 향한 예수님의 사랑을 기억하며, 우리도 타자를 향해 봉사할 수 있도록 기도합시다.
   
   
3. 신자들 가운데 절망에 빠진 자들이 다시 희망을 가질 수 있도록 격려하는 기도를 드립시다

2. 예시 기도문

Holy God,

We humbly come before you today during the season of Epiphany. We commemorate God the Son who blessed this world, in the midst of this season. We gather in prayer, contemplating Your deeds on this earth and pray that we can follow in the footsteps of Jesus, Your Son.

As we reflect on the magnificient appearance of Jesus Christ in this world, may we, in our prayers, recall his teachings and actions. Grant us the wisdom to understand His purpose and the strength to live out His teachings in our daily lives.

Lord, as we enter into this week, we focus our hearts on emulating the humility of Jesus. May we, in our pursuit of knowledge and faith, guard against the pride that can lead others astray. Grant us the wisdom to turn our gaze inward, acknowledging our need for Your guidance and grace. Let humility be the cornerstone of our character, shaping our interactions with one another and fostering unity in our communities.

We lift up in prayer the shepherds among us, those whom You have appointed to guide and lead Your flock. May they walk faithfully in Your ways, and may their words be filled with the wisdom and love that flow from Your heart. Grant them strength, discernment, and a deep connection with You as they lead Your people along the path of righteousness. May Your Spirit work mightily through them, touching the lives of those under their care.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the profound significance of Jesus' life and the example He set for us. During this season of reflection, help us to not only remember but also to live out the teachings of our Lord. As we prepare our hearts for His second coming, may we strive to embody the love, compassion, and humility that He so perfectly demonstrated.

In Jesus' holy name, we offer these prayers, trusting in Your boundless mercy and grace. Amen.
