기도는 전적으로 하나님께 드리는 개인적인 고백이어야 합니다. 하지만 주일 대예배에서 회중을 대표하여 기도할 때에는 중언부언되지 않도록 미리 공기도문을 작성하여야 할 것입니다. 만일 다른 사람이 써놓은 우수한 기도문을 따를 때에는 그 영성을 충분히 내재화하여 자신의 기도로 만들어야 하고, 그것을 그대로 답습하여서는 안 됩니다.

1. 이번 기도의 포인트

1. 주현절은 성자의 신성을 나타내어 보이심을 기념하는 날입니다. 전통적으로 교회에서는 주현절 당일에는 동방박사의 방문을 기념하고, 주현절 첫째 주일에는 예수께서 세례를 받으신 것을 기념합니다. 주님의 세례받으심을 기억하며 우리의 세례를 되새기는 기도를 드립시다.
   
   
2. 이번 주일은 2024년의 첫 주일입니다. 한 해의 시작을 맞이하여, 피조세계의 모든 시작이 주님으로부터 온 것임을 고백하는 기도를 드립시다.
   
   
3. 지난 한 해의 고통에도 불구하고 결코 고통이 끝이 아니라 부활과 천국이 있음을 믿고 2024년을 위한 희망을 가지도록 기도합시다.

Heavenly Father, the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end,
We come before you today on Epiphany, commemorating the manifestation of Your divine glory. We lift our hearts in gratitude and worship, as we reflect on the baptism of our Lord Jesus Christ, .

Lord, as we remember Jesus' baptism today, we also reflect on our own baptisms. We thank You for the cleansing and renewing waters of baptism. Grant us the grace to continually live out the commitments made during our baptisms, seeking to follow the path of righteousness that Your Son has shown us.

On this first Sunday of 2024, we confess that all beginnings come from you, the Creator of time and space. May this year be filled with your presence, guidance, and blessings. We surrender the coming days, weeks, and months into your hands, seeking your wisdom in all our endeavors.

As we standing at the start of the new year, Lord, we recognize that despite the challenges of the past year, there is always hope in you. Just as the pain of Christ's crucifixion was followed by the joy of resurrection, we trust that any difficulties we faced last year will be overcome by your grace and that there is an eternal promise of resurrection and the kingdom of heaven.

Lord, we lift up to you the pains and joys of the year gone by, and we entrust the uncertainties of the future into your loving care. May the hope of your love sustain us, and may we be guided by your light in the journey ahead. In Jesus' name, we offer these prayers. Amen.
