기도는 전적으로 하나님께 드리는 개인적인 고백이어야 합니다. 하지만 주일 대예배에서 회중을 대표하여 기도할 때에는 중언부언되지 않도록 미리 공기도문을 작성하여야 할 것입니다. 만일 다른 사람이 써놓은 우수한 기도문을 따를 때에는 그 영성을 충분히 내재화하여 자신의 기도로 만들어야 하고, 그것을 그대로 답습하여서는 안 됩니다.

1. 이번 기도의 포인트

1. 대림 기간은 하나님께서 성자를 보내신 것을 기념하는 기간입니다. 대림절은 주 예수 그리스도의 성탄에 앞서서 주님께서 오실 길을 예비하는 시기입니다. 예수님의 탄생을 기억하며 그를 예비하는 우리가 되도록 기도합시다.
   
   
2. 주님의 재림을 소망하며 늘 깨어있을 수 있도록 기도합시다. 나태해지지 않고 주님의 길을 항상 따를 수 있도록 다짐합시다.
   
   
3. 이 세상이 오직 지나가는 것임을 잊지 않고 집착하지 않는 마음을 가지도록 기도합시다. 특히 예수님의 탄생에 앞서 회개의 목소리를 높였던 세례자 요한을 본받아, 거칠고 불편하더라도 세상의 편안함을 멀리할 수 있도록 기도합시다.

Gracious Father, Creator of all things,

We bow before You in awe and reverence. As we enter this season of Advent, a time of anticipation and preparation, we reflect on the significance of Your sending Jesus Christ into the world. In the midst of the hustle and bustle, help us to pause and meditate on the miracle of Christ's birth, realizing that it is a prelude to His comng again.

Lord, we bring before You our yearning for a deeper understanding of the path You have set for us. As we embark on this Advent journey, may we be vigilant and awake to your presence. Grant us the strength to resist complacency and to follow faithfully in the footsteps of Jesus. May our hearts be filled with the hope and joy that come from knowing that You are with us always.

In this season of reflection and preparation, help us cultivate a spirit of detachment from the fleeting concerns of this world. Inspired by the example of John the Baptist, who, in anticipation of Jesus, proclaimed a message of repentance, guide us to relinquish the comforts of this world and embrace a path of humility and simplicity, even when it may be challenging and uncomfortable.

Lord, as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, may our hearts be tuned to the melody of repentance and humility. Let the echoes of John the Baptist's call for repentance resonate within us, reminding us that the true comfort lies in turning away from the transitory pleasures of this world and seeking solace in the eternal promise of Your love.

We thank You, Lord, for the gift of your Son, Jesus Christ, whose birth we eagerly anticipate. Grant us the grace to prepare our hearts for His coming, that we may be ready to receive Him with joy and gratitude. In the name of Jesus, our Emmanuel, we pray. Amen.
