기도는 전적으로 하나님께 드리는 개인적인 고백이어야 합니다. 하지만 주일 대예배에서 회중을 대표하여 기도할 때에는 중언부언되지 않도록 미리 공기도문을 작성하여야 할 것입니다. 만일 다른 사람이 써놓은 우수한 기도문을 따를 때에는 그 영성을 충분히 내재화하여 자신의 기도로 만들어야 하고, 그것을 그대로 답습하여서는 안 됩니다.

1. 이번 기도의 포인트

1. 성령강림후 기간은 하나님께서 성령을 보내신 것을 기념하는 기간입니다. 특히 성령의 감화로 인간적 한계를 넘어 뛰어난 일을 한 교회의 선배들을 기억합시다.
   
   
2. 특히 순교자와 선생님들을 기억하며, 자기 비움과 희생을 통해 교회의 본이 된 모든 신앙의 부모를 본받을 수 있도록 기도합시다.
   
   
3. 일교차가 큰 가운데 추위 속에서 무방비 상태에 처한 불쌍한 이웃들을 위해 기도합시다. 그들을 위해 우리가 희생할 수 있도록 결심을 다지는 기도를 합시다.

2. 예시 기도문

Heavenly Father,

We gather before You during this season of celebrating the coming of the Holy Spirit. Grant that as we celebrate extraordinary work of the Saints and Church Fathers who laid the foundation of the Church, we, following them, can also be empowered by the Holy Spirit to transcend human limitations.

As we commemorate this period, we also reflect upon the sacrifices and devotion of the martyrs and teachers of the Christian Churches in Korea. Lord, let us seek the strength to follow their selflessness and dedication in doing God's work. Let us empty ourselves and embrace self-sacrifice as we strive to be the living embodiment of faith in our community.

Lord, in a world where many are vulnerable and exposed to the harshness of extreme economic and climate situations, we remember our less fortunate neighbours who have to endure the bitterness of the season. Grant us the resolution to make sacrifices on their behalf, to extend our helping hands, and provide warmth and comfort to those in need. May our hearts be open to their plight, and may we find the means to ease their suffering.

In your boundless love and mercy, Lord, forgive us for the times when we have fallen short of the examples set by our faithful predecessors. Forgive us for our shortcomings and our reluctance to sacrifice for the greater good. Grant us the grace to trust in your guidance and to use the gifts you've bestowed upon us for the betterment of the world.

We thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to dwell among us and empower us. As we remember and celebrate this season, may we be inspired to follow in the footsteps of those who have gone before us, shining your light in the world. We offer these prayers in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
