기도는 전적으로 하나님께 드리는 개인적인 고백이어야 합니다. 하지만 주일 대예배에서 회중을 대표하여 기도할 때에는 중언부언되지 않도록 미리 공기도문을 작성하여야 할 것입니다. 만일 다른 사람이 써놓은 우수한 기도문을 따를 때에는 그 영성을 충분히 내재화하여 자신의 기도로 만들어야 하고, 그것을 그대로 답습하여서는 안 됩니다.

1. 이번 기도의 포인트

1. 주현절 기간은 하나님께서 성자를 보내신 것을 기념하는 기간입니다. 주현절은 주님의 오심을 축하하는 성탄 절기와 주님의 십자가 고통을 기억하는 사순절기 사이에 있습니다. 예수님께서 탄생하시고 십자가에 못박히시기 전까지 세상에서 행하신 일들을 기억하는 절기입니다. 따라서 예수님이 땅에서 전하고자 하신 뜻을 기억하고 실천하기 위해 기도합시다.
   
   
2. 특히 이번주에는 예수님을 본받기 위해 세상 것들을 버리는 용기를 가질 수 있도록 기도로 구합시다.
   
   
3. 분심을 다스릴 수 있도록 기도합시다. 육체적 한계에 굴복하지 않고 늘 하나님의 평안을 추구하는 마음을 다잡도록 하늘로부터의 힘을 구합시다.

2. 예시 기도문

Gracious Father in Heaven,

We humbly come before you during this sacred season of Epiphany, a time when we commemorate God the Son who blessed this world. In the midst of this season, we contemplate Your deeds on this earth and pray that we can follow in the footsteps of Jesus, Your Son.

As we reflect on the significance of your appearance in this world, may we, in our prayers, recall the teachings and actions of Jesus during His time on earth. Grant us the wisdom to understand His purpose and the strength to live out His teachings in our daily lives.

Lord, instill in us the courage to emulate Jesus in our actions, thoughts, and attitudes. May we find the strength to let go of worldly attachments and follow the example set by the disciples, who gave up their vocation to follow Jesus Christ.

We pray, O Lord, for the ability to control our impulses and desires. Grant us the grace to overcome the distractions and temptations that surround us, enabling us to maintain focus on your divine peace. May the power from above help us persevere, not succumbing to the limitations of our physical selves but always seeking the tranquillity that comes from You.

Heavenly Father, as we engage in these prayers, may our hearts be open to receive the spiritual strength and guidance needed to align our lives with the purpose and teachings of Jesus Christ. Trusting in Your boundless mercy and grace, we offer these prayers in the holy name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
